Since I'm out of characters on that reply-unless there's concrete data shown to the public about TikTok data theft this is just a money grab by US social media. It's not a surprise Meta dumped fact checking. They want to be mining the data that TikTok is mining.

Look I'm not weighing in this ban and I 100% believe other platforms are being hacked/monetized by China.

But that's whataboutism. We shouldn't let China have legal (to them) access to data just because US companies are actively selling to them. We should deal with US data leaks too.
