The NYT giving GOP Gov. Spencer Cox a platform to pronounce the Kirk killer "leftist" w/o providing concrete evidence—in a story that includes mention of an ostensibly anti-fascist bullet engraving but not the widely reported homophobic one—is irresponsibly skewed, & dangerously inflammatory.

This is effectively misinformation, aka bad journalism.

NYTimes Politics reporters and editors reprised Tucker Carlson's disgusting pre-2024 election description of DJT as a punitive father-figure returning home & applied it to Andrew Cuomo, who, like DJT, is a credibly accused sexual harasser of young women.

Extraordinary detail in Kathleen Kingsbury's piece accompanying the NYT's "panel of experts" on the mayoral Primary:

multiple potential panelists declined to participate "because they were concerned about being publicly critical of Andrew Cuomo."

If not, this story misinforms NYT readers about the plain-text content of an executive order.

Brooks still believes that universities being too "progressive" is a "cause of Trumpism," and implies that the "civic uprising" he wants should be fighting for a higher ed that's more rightwing. I'm unpersuaded that his radicalization is sufficient to meet the moment.
