I’ll happily admit that sweet potato pie is vastly superior to pecan pie, but pumpkin pie and apple pie are both vastly superior to either. And red velvet cake is mediocre, and heavily sweetened iced tea is cloying.

But I’m a born Yankee, and native Southerners may well hold contrary opinions.
