The Congestion Charge is only the start. Labour’s Bus Gates could fine residents £70 just for using local roads, and a Workplace Parking Levy could charge £900 per parking space at schools, hospitals & BMW. Working people shouldn’t be punished for living and earning here.

It’s November 4th — Just giving my speech another run-through before the big vote to scrap the congestion charge.

If the motion fails, it’s very likely that the proposed Bus Filters — backed by the Lib Dems, Labour, and Greens — with £70 fines could come into force next year.

Breaking: I have received a response to my Freedom of Information request confirming that advanced proposals for a county council congestion scheme were made on April 2nd. These deliberations—and the application itself—were deliberately concealed from the public ahead of the election.

If two opposition groups are tied with 12 seats each, the taxpayer shouldn’t be funding duplicate shadow cabinet costs. Halving the allowances would be a fair and responsible step — protecting both democracy and the public purse.

The council publishes new dictionaries with new definitions. Car journeys will be reduced by 20% and '20-minute neighborhoods' will be changed to 'liveable neighborhoods'.

@Oxford_Labour
It seems Labour DID support and fund the CPZ proposals just discussed by OCC! Cllr Trish Elphinstone even advised on their design.

Only Labour could vote for a CPZ and then claim victory for preventing part of one.
Confirmation of Labour Party support for Iffley and Rose Hill CPZs

Cowley Road (James Street) saw the highest increase (35%) in NO2 levels – from 20ug/m3 to 27ug/m3 (a 7ug/m3 increase) This is likely due to vehicles diverted from the surrounding LTNs. Evidence from OCC that cycling on the Cowley road is worse. oxford.gov.uk/news/article...
