I apologize, I do not understand yet what reads (and doesn't) as good faith on this platform. Had I known, I was violating local discursive norms, I would not have.

5/ I like his videos and learn a lot from them, even this video is probably very informative about solar. But there's only so much of a smug bs attitude that's tolerable. Especially about such a bitter topic.

4/ Like he's just there to insult the viewer ("You are being mislead", "you are stupid", "I'm so smart and enlightened"), without ever even stating, what I'm being supposedly stupid or misinformed about. Like him noticing that solar technology is useful these days makes him a better, smarter person.

3/ ...but never actually clarifies, what wrong thing I or the hypothetical American actually believes, that is incorrect. Or what specific policy he objects to or wants to see. I searched in the time stamps. And in the video description. I think later on he waffled on about ICE? It felt like he's...

2/ I get that in the US, in addition to your incredible natural resources, there's also money/electricity to be made going solar. You've got tons of space and sun. Not sure, what you're being "misled about". I did not sit thru his entire video, where he says obvious shit, but...

1/ Yes, but not nearly fast enough, to justify our aggressive green energy policy that has and still causes our deindustrilization. Which people like him will maintain is "oh so rational and enlightned, actually". I am rather tired of being europoor for grifty, green ideological elitist projects.

Not disagreeing with the nuclear exit. But I wanted to whinge a bit about his smug attitude about "you're being mislead about solar, it's the saviour of us all actually". Grew up with that bs. Not post the 800 word thing, I've recently written about all the other failures of Germany's energy policy.

Other fuckups too, yes. The EEG subsidy, where boomers with roof space got paid up to 50 cent/kwh produced, that all other consumers had to pay extra for many years is a sour spot. The sheer inefficiency of us larping as Spain, as if we actually got all that much sun, too. Not useless, also a grift.

I don't mind seeing a good technical explanation video about what solar can do these days. But in what way am I supposedly "being misled"? Who exactly are the two audiences, you're never defining but have in mind?

I'm not sure, what your audience or core claim is. As a German, I dislike solar, because we massively subsidized it for a very long time (for rich boomers), developed the tech, let China steal it and pricedump our solar companies out of existence. And we still pay twice per kw/h compared to US.
