David is a viola player, writer, and teacher whose work moves between centuries. Drawing on early music and modern craft, he weaves tradition into new forms. He lives in Barcelona with his partner, a Catalan artist, and is the father of two.
I had the great honour to meet David and the Kronos of the time back in 1993 or 1994 in Winnipeg at the New Music festival they hold every year. I play the viola and specialize in historical performance—in a way something totally opposite to them, and I other ways an extension. Thank you for this.
