Hey, no need to disparage UMASS like that!

The 'collective delusion' is further exhibited by Vivek Ramaswamy's essay in the NY Times published the very next day. All of a sudden, conservatives become social justice warriors when they perceive slight real or unreal.

Tough to be a POC in the GOP.

I returned home to NYC after working 4 years in India. Everyone thought I was from Canada. At least, that was their best guess.

C'mon. Why are we so easily fooled by a hateful con artist? There are all sorts of reasons why he was courteous to Mamdani - not one of them geniune.

Frankly, I'm surprised by our gulliblity after 10 years of this guy.

I'm with you on the concept, but it's more: 1933-1942; 1943-1952; 1953-1962; etc. Etc.

Can't poverty be a primary cause of crime that can (in simple terms) be reduced by increased law enforcement and / or reducing poverty? I don't think anyone will argue that Dinkins / Bratton created the impetus to dramatically reducing crime in nyc, but the goal is need as little police as necessary

Now do Biden

Most importantly, building new housing near employment is considerably less economically viable.

The reason that Mamdani won the primary is bc the rules of nyc's rank choice voting eliminate the lowest vote getter in each round rather than comparing the lowest two vote getters which favors the consensus candidate. Lander, despite his 6% 1st choice votes, was the Democrat's consensus candidate.

Most importantly, the expansion is a symbol of expansion of executive branch power as well as a capital works project emblematic of kings and dictators.

Apparently, you don't.

Relax, lady on the internet. You don't know who I voted for in any election yet make some wild assumptions.

The West Park Church is a landmark protected by law that holds economic, cultural and historical value for all NYers. The Presbytery's plans are based on lies supported by high-priced consultants paid for by a well-capitalized developer.

Where is that in your story?

Preserving the WPC is supported by Council Member Gale Brewer, Representative Jerry Nadler, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, State Senator Brad Hoylman-Sigal and the residents of the UWS.

Liquidating our cultural assets to benefit a religious organization's mission is not in the interests of NYC.

I hear you. We must do both with equal seriousness until everyone feels safe and can live with dignity. It's not one or the other.
