Avowed, MH Wilds, Shadows, South of Midnight, Khazan, Eternal Strands, Atomfall, Oblivion, Expedition 33, Split Fiction, Pirate Yakuza… all big games and not nearly enough time for them all.
And that doesn’t even account for all the great smaller indie stuff too.

Expedition 33 hitting 100,000 concurrent on Steam alone is pretty massive.
So many interesting data points recently for games with really strong vision compared to a lot of the bigger AAA major publisher releases that are on their umpteenth installment.

I wanted to see fantasy develop into a more cowboy Bebop direction. Shorter and punchier. But also more Elmore Leonard. That's kind of what I wanted from fantasy. What if Elmore Leonard or Carl Hiassen wrote cowboy Bebop but in dungeons & dragons Land? That's what I wanted.

D&D is like a writers room and they are all creatives. Like all groups, someone takes the lead (DM). However, some people have different goals in mind and that is one reason why so many campaigns fail. Establishing a friendly relationship/setting expectations beforehand is essential for fun.

This year, I've spent a lot of time trying to meet new people, and I've discovered that everyone is just trying to make it, especially amongst the "nerd" community. The great American experiment seems to be failing. I am worried that it is going to come to something that has consequences for all.

I find it hilarious that in games where the public perception is that the player base is completely toxic or that it's a bunch of old children, that the developers input quests that try to teach social cues and politeness.

Metaphor: Refantazio is probably going to make my top 5 games ever. The writing, gameplay, and engagement is incredible, JRPG or otherwise. It takes a while to get to the great moments, but they pay off in a satisfying way.
