NGC 6072 a complex planetary nebula located in Scorpius about 3000 light years away. The complex shape of the nebula is probably due a multiple star system in the center of the nebula This image taken the JWST in the infrared part of the spectrum shows hydrogen in the red.

This small dark nebula or Bok globule is a fraction of a light year across in a region of space known as the Eagle nebula some 7,000 light years way. The Eagle nebula has a sub region known as the pillars of Creation which 4 to 5 light years across. Also an image of the pillars of creation.

The Vera Rubin telescope located in Cerra Pachon, Chilie. It is 8.4 m mirror telescope that is going to used to survey the skies and can take up to 21 images at a time. Vera Rubin measured the movement of stars around 80 galaxies and helped further the study of dark matter.

UGC 1810 0r ARP 273 a wildly interacting galaxy, what is going on here is uncertain, it is likely that the large galaxy is in the process of consuming a smaller galaxy. This all going in the direction of Andromeda 300 million light years away.

This a composite image of Mars path in the sky from September 19 2024 to May 19 2025 taken 5 days apart. It makes this clock wise loop because the Earth moves faster than Mars and catches up to Mars and passes it by making it look like Mars is doing this crazy pattern.

Jupiter as seen from the Juno space craft which has highly elliptical polar orbits. Juno is the first solar powered space craft to power itself instead of using rtg nuclear power generation. This picture was taken when it first arrived at Jupiter in 2017

NGC 6366 and 47 Ophiuchi. Most of the galaxies globular clusters are in the halo of the galaxy but the globular cluster is only 12,000 light years away and is reddened by the dust between us and it and looks golden compared to 47 Ophiuchi.

New Horizons flyby of Pluto on July 2015 the probe was going over 80,000 kilometers per hour. The probe had the ashes of Clyde Tombaugh the man who discovered Pluto at the Lowell observatory in 1930.

This is the fine guidance sensor and Near Infrared Imager and spectrograph, designed by the Canadian Space Agency and built by Honeywell. The range the imager and spectrograph and imager work in is between 1.5-5 micrometer,. and part of the JWST.

This is an approximation of what the Milky Way looks like edge on. This was done from measurements from the Gaia mission which was done by the ESA, This mission measured 1 billion objects mostly stars but also planet, asteroids and galaxies.

The surface of Venus is at a temperature of 464 C , 867 F or 737 K, with a surface air pressure of 90 times that of Earth and sulfuric acid in the clouds most probes that tries to get thru the atmosphere. Here is an image from one of few probes that made the Russian Venera 14 taken in March 1982.
