Academic, director, snapper up of unconsidered trifles.
Not so much a fess, more a life hack

University education shouldn't have anything to do with preparing students for the workplace.

(Originally wrote ' a guy' instead of 'a fellow', but realised that might be confusing festivals)

IIRC, there is one short story set just after the birth of the couple's first child.

Maybe there were both - belt and braces. I'm pretty sure we're talking about the same Channel Four screening. IIRC, it was part of a series of British comedies called something like 'Beyond Ealing'.

I remember it slightly differently; I recall a male and female voice over the closing credits of the first film that went something like:

Male: You mean that's it?
Female: No, darling, that's just the supporting feature. The Meaning of Life will be along in a bit.

I recall that after this, Tony Blackburn said 'I won't take it personally.' and my sister, who I was watching it with, said 'Why shouldn't you?'

Sad to hear that - they should have learned about the intentional fallacy in their first week at Uni.

True - I remember it from 'The Wonderful World of Disney'

The point is well-made, although I'd say that understanding when people are talking shit on the internet and studying the Porter in Macbeth are part of the same skillset. Also, no English teacher worth the job would seriously be asking a class to guess 'what the author had in mind'.

Ah okay, I'm wrong. That's odd, though, given that she's barely in it.

Even the Sherman brothers' score is less memorable than usual. The high IMDb rating suggests that some people must remember it with affection, but I've never met any of them. (3/3)

... Anglophilia (they were a bit ahead of the curve in this respect - the British invasion was still a year away), scratchy animation, a casual attitude to story - the titular
MacGuffin is introduced at the start of the film, then forgotten till about ten minutes from the end. (2/3)

A very radical production of Waiting for Godot

That slightly surprises me - I'd have guessed that your interest in theology would have made you a good fit for it, just in terms of the ideas. Mind you, as we both know from student work, ideas are not enough.
