When we were children my 5 year old sister was a self appointed loo inspector. She would rate public lavatories for decor, pong, cleanliness and polished pipe work. I can still remember her emerging with the verdict “Quite hygienic“. 60 years on she still likes a nicely furnished loo!

We witnessed a small murmuration of starlings on our dog walk this morning . Seeing them gather and soar was spell binding.

I accept the loss of my annual winter fuel allowance, despite my small income, because many are in greater need. Lord Swraj Paul (38th richest man) claims more than my annual WFA for every day he pops by the House of Lords. (£100,000 expenses)
He takes no active part.
This should cease! 🥾

The most wonderful garden in my world is Rosemoor in Devon. It’s peaceful and beautiful in every season. Here are some of its Autumn colours today. It’s a paradise of plant forms and contrasts.

I’m finding your series on ptyxis
delightful. Do the original folding instructions originate in cell geometry? I’m not a scientist ( I did botany at school in the 1960s! )

Is that the same as the mullaine moth ? Very similar. We had some of these large vivid caterpillars.

Bluesky is civil and I’m feeling very comfortable here. I’m not exposed to grifters pushing crypto currencies or adverts for tacky products and gambling sites. Interesting people live here and it has a healthier ecosystem. More and more people are quitting Musk’s evil empire. Come on in.
