One of the biggest barriers to re-greening cities is the idea every resident is entitled to ten square metres of paved public space on which to store a private vehicle that sits idle for 23.5 hours each day. One thing we have really learned to appreciate about living in Europe is the easy rail access to rural recreational opportunities.

Like hopping on a train in the city centre and—within 15 minutes—immersing ourselves in the forests, wetlands, and hillsides of Montagne de Reims Regional Natural Park.

The central emblema, sadly missing in part, depicts Bellerophon riding Pegasus and striking the Chimaera in the mouth with a spear. This painting is bordered by two lines, one solid, the other serrated. A two-part braid highlights the geometric panels surrounding the central scene. The whole mosaic is bordered by a black line and a running maeander.
