One possible explanation is that ex-servicemen poppy sellers on the high street are sadly dying out. The only place I could find poppies on sale locally was in a fishmongers. Oddly none of the three supermarkets was selling them.

Each and every image you've posted in this series has given me pause, prompting reflections on the lives of others. So much sadness in the world. Grief as a Moebius strip, or Escher staircase.
