I don't buy much, so I can't say that Trump's tariffs are affecting me much.
I do buy a lot of fresh produce. For the first time ever, I've seen that when US produce is "in season", the prices have gone UP from when we were importing from Chile, Mexico, etc. Gee, think hunting migrants might hurt?

I'm a serious night-out, but between long-Covid and the heat, I figured I'd go to bed early tonight.
It's now 3:20am. Guess that didn't work out!

I see Trump is banning travel into US from 12 countries; to protect us from "dangerous foreign actors". I'm so glad that these actors could never come up with the idea of going somewhere else to catch a plane to here....🤷

I feel that the tariff on foreign films is less about protecting Hollywood (when has GOP ever given a damn about H-Wood?) and more about showing non-Americans as real, normal people. Makes it hard to "other" and demonize them, which is the core of the GOP now.

After checking the morning news, I have only one question:

Why was Noem carrying $3000 in cash to a restaurant? Who routinely carries that much cash that's not doing something illegal? Was she meeting up with her dealer for desert?

I really look forward to the day where my daily morning routine does NOT include "check news to see if the country still exits".

Reading the posts about students using AI to write paper reminds me of one college English class where I wrote an analysis of Hemingway's "Hills Like White Elephants", where much of my work was done just so that I could put "Mr Boston's Bartender Guide" in the bibliography.
