What is happening to US democracy is obviously very worrying and heartbreaking, but I’m concerned that the complacent attitude in the UK is that it wouldn’t happen here, when it very easily could. In some ways, from the “hostile environment” to limits on protest, it already has.

Europe must treat MAGA ideological imperialism as seriously as Soviet attempts to spread communism to the West.
They are funding and promoting extremist European parties & trying to destabilise democratically elected govts.

I'm ignorant about the US constitution, but does nothing have to be approved by your parliamentary system, or can he make edicts about absolutely everything? Sounds, well, like a dictatorship....
