It is still August. It is not spooky season, Pumpkin Spice latte season or Pumpkin beer season. Oktoberfest season is questionable, only because I love it. </end rant>

Hello Durham Public School parents! As you prepare for the start of the school year, add your children's school lunch menus to your family calendar or planner! I gather all the menu PDFs from the DPS website and upload them to Google Calendars, which you can access here: github.com/davidbradway...

There was room for a turn lane and on-street parking (near some massive surface lots), but no room for a bike lane

Towerview Rd sure would look good with some bike lanes on it, Duke

Just a normal, street-legal vehicle in the ol’ US of A. Could have probably fit in one parking space, but didn’t bother. 🙄

The long-awaited crosswalk light is coming to EK Powe at Ninth St. With already reduced speed limit, added flexposts, and removal of the Knox St. slip lane, safety for kids walking and biking is improving. Now how do we get driver parents off Ninth and onto Edith to use the drop-off line?

This is the year to take the GoDurham 6 bus to Duke Gardens and avoid parking altogether!

Parking changes due to the Garden Gateway construction project:
* No visitor parking M-F
* Limited parking Sat & Sun in the H lot, next to the temporary entrance at 2000 Lewis St.

Shout out to Durham Transportation Department. I put in a OneCall request about this right turn only sign at Main and Buchanan despite the lane being removed during restriping. They fixed it THE SAME DAY! Looking forward to the protection planned for the bike lanes between here and Broad

Road safety will improve at EK Powe with a community project funded by a Duke-Durham Neighborhood Partnership Grant. We will redesign the closed-off vehicle slip-lane at Knox St and 9th St into a vibrant space featuring a kid-designed mural and vertical elements such as planters or bike racks.
