I know my view goes against the grain but there is wheat in the chaff. As Democrats we have been stuck in process rather than results… the weaponization of CEQA in California has thwarted needed housing. And the group think of the party circling the wagons around Biden stifled new leadership.

Excellent… that is why I’m reading Tapper’s Original Sin and Ezra Klein’s Abundance as an opportunity for honest self reflection in how we can do better in finding new leadership freed from the grasp of a gerontocracy and policies that benefit the middle class even as these books have been panned.

I’m reading this as I post. I believe the critics - mainly on the left which I count myself - are a Rorschach reflection on why our political parties have failed to pursue an abundance agenda. MAGA wants to horde scarcity among the oligarchic elite. Dems focus on bean counting rather than results.

I agree with you. I actually thought his 14 minute podcast (save this line) about not believing Trump was a variant of Timothy Snyder’s “Don’t obey in advance.” Your thesis and his are otherwise complementary in resistance.
