Selbsterklärend, denke ich
Well it’s kinda vague. From the 24.03.1933 I‘d argue the Weimar Republic became the Nazi dictatorship. However there is no drop in the black graph around that time, so I assume they anyway count it.
I was just confused about this sentence in the description myself.

Good points. It still feels like all the proposed names do not quite contain the essence of the violent system that upholds his autocratic rule.
Call me old fashioned, but I kinda like tyrant 🤷‍♂️

Well the lawyers don’t have anything to do with it. The legislator in Germany decided that damages are not based on how „wrong“ an act is, but based on how much practical costs occurred for the injured party. And again a lot of lawyers and jurists don’t understand that and don’t agree with it

funeral costs, maybe also therapy costs for the family alongside some additional money as compensation for the emotional trauma, probably something like 20000 per parent.
So these damages are not part of the punishment and even in law circles often criticised as too low.

murder. However that is up to the court to find out.
Also: The damages bestowed upon the victims family don’t have much to do with the criminal trial. That’s a civil trial and damages are basically calculated based upon how much it costs to treat the victim, in this case I would gather mostly 5/6

do presume surprisingly fast in traffic related cases. So if there would be some kind of awareness of the driver that he was doing something very dangerous, trying to impress his girlfriend with his speeding, having a car race or something similar he would likely be charged with manslaughter or 4/5
June 19, 2025 at 7:22 AM
Highly unfair to give such a small sentence for taking a life, but that is how negligence works.
It could look entirely different if the driver has been sentenced for traffic related crimes before btw.
Also it could look entirely different if the driver had some kind of intent, which the courts 3/4

No judge wants to send a 84 year old to prison, when the danger can already be removed from society by taking the license away. And that’s saving society tens of thousands, including likely medical treatment, probably hundreds of thousands of euros in prison upkeep costs.
Of course it feels 2/4
June 19, 2025 at 7:14 AM
Well yes likely the sentence by the criminal court would be 1-2 years but suspended.
The license will certainly be revoked, likely he will be banned from acquiring a new one for life.
And as tragic as it is and as unfair as it feels to the victim and his family, that is not a bad sentence imo 1/2
