Had 2 replace electric vehicle this year, wanted to use $7,500 tax credit. Decided on Kia EV6 as electric SUV, w/300 mile range, ideal for driving around Phoenix. With our solar panels & garage charger, will be cheaper 2 operate. I wanted red, school colors of my universities (Indiana U & U Alabama)

Concluded seven days of conference activities here in Houston at our annual Lunar & Planetary Science Conference. Lots of young scientists showing off their research! Yet everyone is a bit subdued about what the future may hold for NASA, planetary science, and the institutions like universities.

Busy week! First blood donation to United Blood Services in years. Tonight, while Kim was at the Ballet, indulged in beer 🍺 and Hungarian Chicken Paprikash at Edleweiss Biergarten. Was very good, reminded me of my Mom’s 😋

Just finished Star Trek wine advent calendar tonight, produced by #startrekwines. Great sampling wines from around the world in these unique single-serving bottles (Kim drank them for the 6 days I was away at AGU). Great work Star Trek Wines for a fun way to celebrate the holidays and Star Trek! 😋🍷

Given the importance of today’s Indiana vs Ohio State game, I thought I bring out the hat I used to wear at IU athletic events when I was a student there in the 1980s. Go Hoosiers! 🏈

Hard to believe it was 30 years ago today that the 7th Star Trek movie, Generations, was released to theaters. I had just started my PhD at the University of Alabama Department of Geological Sciences and a group of us Trekker graduate students went to see it.
