If you have ever learned anything from me, a science fact, a skill, or heard me say something interesting, it is because I learned it while my career has been funded by NASA’s Earth Science Division. Without it, I disappear, as do all of that information. This budget will eliminate ALL its funding.

Whenever I am discouraged by politics or humans in general, I remember that this is all due to a simple thymine to cytosine point mutation in wild emmer (Triticum dicoccoides) about 12,000 years ago that allowed us to domesticate wheat and form the basis of modern human societies.
