Vigorous. Vigorous!

Yep that's a mess. I don't mind busy geometric designs, but you need to go all in. This was clearly aiming for "peooow" fast arrow, but fails because of too many arrows. I could even put up with one "wrong way" arrow at the back. It would tie-in nicely with the forwards-backwards classic logo.

Yes I realise my pure design solution of an arrow only at the front is cloud la-la land because at each end of journey the train can't just start again "backwards". They'll need sidings to move the arrow back to the front. Anyway it was cool in my head for 5 mins! 😆

...and I can't believe I'm saying this, but can we have the logo bigger! Like your suggestion. Ugh, but that name, Great British Railways is embarrassing isn't it?

Opinionated graphic designer (how unusual ...) would like to disagree with almost all the negativity in the article's comments. I'd like to combine your (retro) thought with the new design. I love the striking angles, but don't repeat it. It's too jarring on following carriages.

I had gone down a Cochrane hole, but admittedly only a shallow one!
December 5, 2025 at 3:08 PM
Joke? No idea! But the internet tells me a Discworld quote.
December 5, 2025 at 2:54 PM
Including one serving currently, there have been five ships in the Chilean navy named Almirante Cochrane! I bet you already knew that, but your odd posts I stumble across lead to lunchtime trivia research over a coffee. Already dropped into casual conversation, as you do.

Won't be long before we go down an alley to a dodgy surgeon to get our eyes swapped.

No doubt you'll grab a copy of his book about is "ordeal" inside. 😜

Even if a poster has a time listed it's to be ignored. Not the opening of the festa, or market, it's the official time stall holders can arrive maybe. No idea, but it's been a waste of our time on a couple of occasions in the past going to a thing only to find tumble weed.

"Enhance image ..." 😜
November 20, 2025 at 12:44 PM
That really is spectacular!
November 19, 2025 at 11:04 PM
😂 I'll stop!
November 18, 2025 at 10:37 AM
Should we even mention the detective in (insert name of crime drama) being given a clearly empty take-away coffee, and clearly not slurping anything hot, or even remotely liquid?! 😆
November 17, 2025 at 8:54 PM
I think that's why the trend for leaving subtitles on came about isn't it? We with our "pov" stereo TVs and the dialogue is mashed with all the other sounds. Yet we can watch old school films, with background noise, and clear soundstaging of say a door opening off screen, and the dialogue is clear.
November 17, 2025 at 3:55 PM
I'm happy with inaccuracies, well, not really. But what I really want is for important text messages to ping up and take half the screen. Just showing someone holding a phone and expecting the viewer to have a wall sized home cinema setup is plain bad direction.

From what I understand, games are created by digital artists. Real humans with real human skills and original ideas. Although I think a recent game Starfield has some AI generated worlds. Most of it though is the work of people. Hopefully someone with greater knowledge on this can answer!

Not sure our species is capable! Although places like Denmark are decent enough models to follow for a generally fair society.
November 10, 2025 at 10:22 AM
Well, yes I agree. That's just a start though, rather than the solution to humans being horrible to each other and wrecking our pale blue dot.

One of the finest things ever said. Back when intelligence was given air time and we all seemed to have an attention span.

Paaaa-haaaa-ha!!

The latest Peugeot logo looks like a badge you win in an online combat game rather than something that represents solid respectability or history. If they were hoping to signify innovation, it just looks cheap.

A thing of pure beauty!
