I see your point, but I don't get the "driving test" bit of the analogy. Maybe for students it is valid. Surely for writers the analogy would be "Calling yourself a writer because you can use Generative AI is like calling yourself a driver because you can book a Waymo".

I think you will find that there are a large number of people who would constitute the Democrat base even in red states. Not a majority, but the Democrat vote was over 1/3 in all but 4 states.
