Took the Barrow Volvo Cabriolet to the Mining Museum at Threlkeld near Keswick today. The group have been here previously although this was my first visit. Extremely friendly people and overall, a very peaceful and relaxing day. A hidden gem of Cumbria that is well worth a visit!

Today I took the plunge and purchased my third car. A 2 year old Kia Niro 4 HEV, from Lloyd South Lakes. Only clocked up 7000ish miles. Very relaxing to drive.

Went to Lytham St Annes with my friends in the Barrow Transport Group today for the Ribble Bus Event there. Although thundery showers had been predicted by the BBC, we didn't get as wet as we expected to and it was a good day out.

Selfie of me on the A590 aboard our Volvo B10M Cabriolet, 928, heading to Burscough with the Barrow Transport Group during a rare cloudless morning in Cumbria yesterday.

As these become part of accessibility regulations, I do wish is that Stagecoach would go the extra mile and employ a real human to voice their announcements as the AI in use here sounds robotic, unfriendly, incoherent and not very attention grabbing.

Slowly but surely, Stagecoach Barrow are starting to make full use of the rear blinds on the Solo SR fleet. The blinds have been updated so far on two vehicles to tell you where they are going as opposed to only the service number.

New toy arrived yesterday. 34 years old, but the kid inside of me hasn't departed just yet. Also surprised to find it was protected by a very, very, very long snake of airbags. My mum would have been disappointed by the lack of bubblewrap to pop! #Switch2

Attended the Ribble Bus Event in Morecambe today with the Barrow Transport Group. Very enjoyable and the weather was just as good as last year's event which I was unable to do. Plenty of video has been filmed which I cannot wait to share with you on my YT channel soon. 🙂

Barrow Transport Group Leyland PD2 169 and Volvo B10 Cabriolet 928 safely back home after another fantastic day out to Whitehaven for Leyland National 53.

Spent a glorious sunny day at Leyland National 53 in Whitehaven with the Barrow Transport Group today and will be doing it all again tomorrow. 🙂

Had a fantastic day out at Kirkby Stephen yesterday with our friends in the Barrow Transport Group, and came back home with a hint of sunburn! 🌞

A YouTube video of the day is now in post production.

Engineering works are set to take place on the Cumbrian Coast Line which is operated by Northern and the Cumberland News source a picture of a Southeastern Electrostar for their article. Sad that a supposedly local paper can't source a local picture. 🙄

Took the car for another trip today. This time to the Keighley Worth Valley Railway for the 2025 Spring Steam Gala. Started off a bit wet this morning but it dried up quite quickly. A bit chilly but otherwise a good day out.

Drove the car to St Helens yesterday. Parking was a nightmare! The Barrow Transport Group did not attend as they continued to progress with the refurb of Seadog 931. Good day out though and was lucky to catch a ride aboard the Madieran B10. Working on the YouTube video now.

Been out and about on Merseyrail today. Experiencing the system in a world of total 777 operation. Apart from minor delays to various Wirral Line services, today has been excellent.

Old & new side by side at Barrow today. Optare Solo PX54 EPJ and Switch Solo YJ74 CZB. 5 out of 20 PX54s remain on allocation, although they are due to be replaced by 5 Enviro 200s from Chesterfield depot, 2 of which have now entered service. Not long left now.

🧵In the early 2000's, Stagecoach Barrow trialled real time bus information & onboard announcements. Screens were erected at stops, & GPS antennas were fitted to 7 ALX 100 Mercedes and 1 709D. From my dad's pic, you can just make out the antenna poking up at the top of 195.

An unusual visitor to the Barrow Shipyard is HSC Dublin Swift. Built in 2001, it has been moored up here since October for it's winter hibernation. Apparently, the rent was cheap.

Kicked off 2025 with a Barrow Transport Group trip. Travelled aboard Volvo Cabriolet 928 to Wrexham for today's bus running day, in aid of the Nightingale House Hospice. A bit wet to start, but the weather improved. A good day out.

Was able to attend the last ever Christmas Cracker at Manchester's Transport Museum on Sunday with my friends in the Barrow Transport Group. Despite the cold wind and rain later on, it was a good day. This annual tradition will be greatly missed.
