La Goudale, French 7.2%. Meaningful glass stolen from a Paris bar by a teacher at my request on a 6th form trip in 1980.

Smokey goodness. Budvar black currently available in Lidl in the UK. Although it's 4.7%. I'm sure it's 5% in Europe. #bskybeer

And now I appear to be stuck part way along a "journey" or "Urgent Pathway" ( (c) NHS).
So, a week on from a very distressing day that revealed nothing, I'm awaiting test results and a date for a CT scan. I felt good about the lack of anything, then I realised it meant that it's all unexplained

#bskybeer. Still in Iceland (this is getting expensive at £10 for 400ml).
Viking Light. Gluten free, very refreshing. 4.2%>

#bskybeer Ignore the colour, it's the lights. Bastard Amber, 4.9? %. Ooh, that's good, refreshing and full of flavour.

#bskybeer My last night in Iceland. In Lemmy bar drinking Lemmy IPA 7.2%.
Pleasant for a strong beer. The hops stop just short of overpowering but are robust enough to be a warning about the strength.

#bskybeer Icelandic again. Boli 5.6%. So quite strong, flavourful without being overpowering and fairly low on gas.

#bskybeer In Iceland, had to give this place a try. Hazy Bastard is a New England IPA, locally brewed.
For me, nicely balanced, I don't like overpowering citrus and this had just enough.

75cl at 7.2% is quite the commitment for a Sunday afternoon. Not particularly refined with a bitter aftertaste but not offensive and excellent value for money.
Available across northern France, on the ferries and the Eurotunnel terminal.

I suspect these are all products of the SAS/St Omer brewery*

So, adequate without being exciting.

*it's possible, but unlikely, that two entirely separate breweries are next door to each other.

Had a bad dream and launched myself out of bed last night. Landed on my bad hip which now seems better than it has been in 6 months.

My ear hurts though, it might have hit a drawer handle on the way down.
