Yet, we saw last season that his midrange took a leap, achieving pretty solid efficiency as he surely knows that he will one day be too old to be banging bodies in paint all game long. So who knows 🤷‍♂️

Shooting coaches on YouTube like this one youtu.be/RHE3X9-WnPs?...
describe ways that he is markedly different after working with this or that person, and also sound like there is no going back for him as a player.

Is there a pattern among players who have also undergone significant body modification? If they change their game to increase/decrease outside shooting, can they ever change back? Lebron is an example of developing a 3 late in your career, but he's an outlier in so many ways.

People in that thread go in every different direction.
"This is a myth, you can move just as well after bulking up" vs
"How can it not mess up your shot when lifting a ball is 10 times easier"
And some player examples cited that prove opposite points, ie when Curry bulked up, but did it slowly.

I won't go into his free throw form, suffice to say it is the worst to watch. But is he stuck like this because of how he changed his body? Is this the price of being the greatest finisher/transition threat? This reddit thread shows what I mean:

He knows better than anyone that he could be the best player in history with a reliable 3p shot, but can't seem to get it to work. His free throws hit the high mark in 2016-17 and have been declining ever since, even as other teams use this weakness and foul him more.

His first season was 35% on 1.5 att/game. Low volume, but his highest mark in both numbers in any season since. We all know what happened next: he develops as a slasher, puts on 50lbs in 2018 and cue MVP seasons and overall dominance at the rim.
