Is there a man amongst the BC Liberal MPs with the backbone to stand up and do the right thing and say that they do not support what Carney has done. The party should have room for people with honour!
In the face of global trade shifts and uncertainty, we’re working to build a stronger, more sustainable, more competitive, and more independent economy.

Canada’s MOU with Alberta will ensure we can advance that mission together.

I have been a Liberal all my life. I still am a liberal but this Carney pipeline deal with Alberta, stabbing BC in the back, means I will be voting for the candidate most likely to defeat Wade Grant. The only way I could support him is if he stands with his Province.

I am surprised at the number of my fellow Canadian friends who are seriously concerned that the US will invade Canada. Wonder if Americans know or care?

We Canadians live next door to a country that thinks that it is okay to blow up boats in International waters; kill the occupants with no proof of wrongdoing. Is invading Canada the next step because we dared to accurately quote Ronald Reagan? Your Emperor has no clothes!

Sooner or later we Canadians have to accept that we have to move on from the US. Trump's goal is to use economic pressure to annex Canada and if economic pressure doesn't work, a military invasion is a real possibility. We can not expect to make a deal with a mad man.

I remember the day when they were called the Ugly Americans. But I never thought the day would come when I thought of them as ugly and stupid. There is still that ugly element (Trump MAGGOT) and they have to be stupid to walk like lemmings to authoritarianism.

I listened to Imagine last night and it struck me that if John Lennon were writing songs today he would not be able to write Imagine. He was a dreamer and today his dreams would be nightmares

I am fed up with the CBC talking about Western Canada when they mean Alberta. It is Alberta that is doing all the whining. It is Alberta that has the wingnut Premier. Alberta is nearly as self-centered as Toronto. Western Canada is the Rockies and west.

Even though the supermarket I shop at seems to have more products marked Made in Canada every day, it is still difficult to weed out US products. Yesterday it was carrots. All the bunches were marked US on the twist tie . Finally found a bag grown in Canada.

I guess I am getting a little fed up with my fellow Canadians saying that they like individual Americans. It's Trump I don't like. It was individual Americans that elected Trump. It is individual Americans who are attacking our country. If you take away the MAGA hat all Americans look the same.

I heard them talking on TV about US Intelligence and couldn’t help but wonder if that is an oxymoron

I was raised in Canada by my grandparents who came to Canada from England over a hundred years ago. I was a Monarchist until the British PM threw Canada under the bus in his suckup to Trump. That finished the monarchy in Canada for me. Time for a new Canada

I was thinking maybe Trump should make Gaza the 51st State.

Whatever happens when Trump talks to Trudeau today we Canadians have to remember that the Governor of Texas and lots of other Americans supported Trump in his attack on our sovereignty. Americans are no longer our friends and cannot be trusted to keep their part of any agreement.

When you have to choose between letting one of two great players or the coach go, it is the coach that has to go. Just saying that for the Canucks, the choice is pretty simple

I read from Bluesky to my wife at night. Tonight I switched to X without telling. After reading two tweets, she commented. What happened. Things have gone down two levels

Trump is to Canada what Putin is to the Ukraine. We are facing a war; an economic war, but still a war. Trump idolises Putin and sees Canada as his Ukraine. If you have friends or business associates in the US, you need to tell them that you don't want to be part of their country.

What Canada needs is a political leader to ask the Americans to decide if they want to be our friends and if they don't to just fuck off. Unfortunately we are going to get mini trump Pollievre whose policies are made in the US .

Just heard someone refer to Trudeau as Sunny Daze. Trying to figure out what that makes Pollievre?? Cloudy Daze. Lying Daze. Nasty Daze. Ina Daze. Lots of options

So we Canadians watch Trump lie through his teeth and promise to lower prices and they say that is not possible as soon as he is elected. And then we are so fuckig dumb we believe Pollievre when he makes the same lies!

We Canadians need to come to terms with the fact that the US elected Donald Trump. His uglyness is their uglyness. They are no longer our friends. They probably never will be again. The US can not be relied on. We need to get over it and move on; choose new friends that we can rely on.

I have discovered that I can "block" people on tv. Every time CNN has one of those yahoos with a Stetson on one of their news talk shows, I block them by switching channels. Works every time.
November 25, 2024 at 4:38 AM
Just been reading posts from people patting each other on the back for blocking people of a differing political persuasion. I thought the whole idea of social discourse was to exchange opinions, not block people.

Canadians should be watching very carefully what Trump is doing. Pollievre is not Trump (although he may like to be) but he will have to appease the pro-life, anti-vax, anti science, Fuck Trudeau crowd that he has welcomed into his party. They will pull the strings.
