I love cooking for people. This is a Jamie Oliver recipe I just cooked. It’s Navajo lamb marinaded in a Juniper based paste served with white beans and flatbreads and I added asparagus.

I cooked this last night from the Jamie Oliver America recipe book. It’s venison marinaded in balsamic vinegar and herbs with creamy beans made of corn and broad beans in a sauce. Said to be from Georgia. Anyone from Georgia out there - does this sound authentic?

Latest recipe cooked - Broccoli, Gruyère and Parma Ham Quiche. From The Quick Roasting Tin by Rukmini Iyer. I have tried most of the easy to cook recipes in this book and they have all been good.

I grow cacti and have a large collection many of which I have grown from seed. They mostly live in a greenhouse but a few live indoors. Very oddly two of the indoors cacti have decided to flower in the middle of winter.

Working hard on my allotment. Crossing swords with the allotment committee which includes some bossy types who seem get off on bullying people having problems with their allotment including myself - I suffered a broken arm which made it hard to keep up work. So I am planning a take over at the AGM.

My local pub which is the Windsor Castle in East Finchley, north London had a live Xmas sing along show last night with over 20 musicians squeezed into this cosy little pub. I am lucky to be living in an area with a good community spirit.
