What a year 2024's been, eh? Great year for music though. Here's your end of year gift - I've put together some of the tracks that got me through 2024 and included some inane chat between some of them. Includes Peter Levy glory hole action. You can listen here: www.mixcloud.com/DaveW65/what...

What Makes Gipsyville Library So Special?

You know that square building on the roundabout? That’s Gipsyville Library, that is. Amy Thompson took a trip down there to find out all about it.

My favourite part of Steve McQueen’s Blitz was seeing the weird IT lad from Apple TV+ stablemate Slow Horses wandering down Hull’s High Street. And Stephen Graham was very good as Fagin.

It does seem nice here. Like the old days. 2006 or so. Not sure I’ve got the energy for it, like.

First in a series of photographs of Hull photographers taking photographs. This is Neil Holmes, who’s not made it to Bluesky yet, doing his thing in front of the old, getting redeveloped Burton’s building, looking fine without its scaffolding

Not quite Wardour Street but the beer at the nearby pub I frequent goes up 25p on Friday PM to Sunday lunch. Several strangers have been heard to tut between mouthfuls of permanently overpriced scampi fries.
