The oxygen goes in, the carbon dioxide goes out. Toronto, Canada.
My wife and I were there today too. It’s awesome.

The problem is with first past the post: people who don’t want Ford or the PCs - 57% in the last election - split their vote between three alternatives so the PCs won everything. Progressive parties may need to overcome their dislike of each other to provide a single alternative to voters.

While I’m thinking of it: in parts of Europe, cars come instantly to a stop when pedestrians make a request to cross. European pedestrians in Toronto risk getting killed at crosswalks, as the unwritten rule here is that the first car gets to go through the crosswalk when the button is pressed.

I have seen crossings in which the legal time window for pedestrians to start crossing the street before the countdown starts is only one or two seconds. Pedestrians are seen as an inconvenience to car traffic.

It looks like Vonnegut referenced the concept of six seasons several times! He used it in a commencement speech that was published in a collection of them:

I was 20 minutes total, including getting to and from the polling station. Agreed - Canadian elections are wonderful.

This isn’t a particularly flattering picture of me, but I’m a little over 6’2”, weigh a bit more than 220, and am almost exactly two months shy of 65.

I think this post means I’m not going to get into the United States anymore. #ElbowsUp

I don’t know whether someone thought that constructing a car out of straight-line parts was more “efficient” or whether this was somebody’s design preference. It looks like it’s hard to see out of and too small for a tall person to fit into.

What is not talked about is the death of trust. You can no longer trust the US to be your friend. You cannot rely on any contracts they sign. You can no longer take them at their word.
They are like a cheating spouse. You might take them back, but the relationship will never be the same.
