This is why we need complicated algorithms to make music recommendations. How else would we figure out that these three artists are similar?

This issue came out in ‘89 and had two words of dialogue. The Batman title was in a weird place that summer - they had just gotten all the publicity from killing Jason Todd, but Jim Starlin left the title right after and there were fill in writers for a while before they intro’d Tim Drake.

Look, I grew up in the Northeast, I live in the Northeast, I work in the Northeast, I understand the basis for every generalization about the Northeast, but I will take a back seat to no Philadelphian in my appreciation for LeVar Burton. :)

In class this week: My seniors have been stranded on a deserted island with a handful of resources. This was supposed to be a first aid kit, but instead I guess it’s a name tag for Legion of Super-Heroes tryouts. I wonder what @markwaid.bsky.social would say.

Talking about media industries as part of our opening unit on media literacy. I bought a copy of the Phila Inquirer from 1994 so students could see print media literally shrink over the last thirty years.

Pretty sure Adventures of Superman 450, right before the first three issues you posted, is the first Superman issue my brother bought when we started collecting comics in '89. What a doozy to jump into the start of a new story that was also playing off tons of backstory that we had to catch up on!
