It's a snow day, and I'm really hitting the classics.

Happy New Year everyone!

We started this new year as we finished the old one, with a #parkrun. We did #Redcar again, but this time volunteering as tail-walkers. A lovely atmosphere and a great way to start 2026!

parkrun is my absolute favourite thing from 2025, and I can't recommend it enough.

Back to #Redcar for the #parkrun this morning. Nice and dry, not too cold, friendly volunteers and great signs!

Had a nice run, and ended up finishing with a new PB (27m32s)

Best of all, I feel perfectly comfortable spending the rest of the day getting intimate with a Toblerone.

Earned our puds todays with a #Christmas #parkrun at Albert Park. Lovely atmosphere. Lots of excellent doggos and costumes and doggos in costumes on display!

The current #RAM crisis is so profound it is causing issues throughout the entire time line.

Volunteered for the first time at Albert #parkrun as a marshal today. Lovely morning, great to shout encouragement at 300 strangers and doggos.

Mostly uneventful, oh, except the guy who drove a van into the park at our entrance and wanted to drive it around the course where runners were running.

Today's #parkrun was the Cinder Track in #Whitby, which goes over the Larpool Viaduct and has some lovely views over the Esk Valley and Whitby Abbey.

It was a straight course, out and back, mostly. Slightly up on the way out, slightly down on the way home. All of which got me a new PB of 27:48!

A trip to Seaton Carew for the Hartlepool #parkrun this week!

It was a straight-up-the-seafront-and-back run and, like any trip to the North East coast, could have gone one of two ways...

Thankfully, this one was not a grey, miserable, windy nightmare, and was actually quite lovely.

After a week of snow, we never expected to be doing a #parkrun this morning, but here we are at #Redcar.

Great course, not too cold and the rain held off. I finished with a baffling PB of 28:29, over a minute and half better than my previous PB! Must have been that last minute banana I scoffed!

We got up and did Stewart #parkrun this morning. Very friendly parkrun and a very twisty turny course through a lovely park. It's an absolute scrum at the start and the slippery conditions made passing difficult, but very enjoyable once it opened up.

Another lovely #ParkRun at Albert Park in Middlesbrough. Constantly friendly and welcoming, and a great way to finish my final #CouchTo5K run!

I just finished Wonderboy III: The Dragon's Trap on the #Sega Master System and got a #RetroAchievements hardcore mastery to boot!

Was great to play it properly finally. An early #Metroidvania that holds up well today. Mildly janky, as expected, but nothing major. Looks great!

I have glimpsed the top of the mountain... they should have sent a poet, etc.

I just finished Bulk Slash on the #SegaSaturn, a colourful mech game where you pilot a robot/plane around various environments completing objectives. You pick up "Navigators" who give you various abilities.

Each level is slightly different: some indoors, some in space, but all a lot of fun!

My favourite memory of CVG was the Mean Machines section... a couple of monthly pages that covered the emerging 8-bit console market. Tantalising to teenage kid... And it spawned these wonderful spinoff specials (there were four in total).
