I remember the first Earth Day. I was in high school, and someone gave me an arm band and said it was for the Earth, and if I cared about the environment, I should wear it. I put it on, didn't think much more about it, and now here we are. Some progress, not enough, but we endeavor.

Many years ago my father taught Driver's Ed in South Carolina. He swore that there was something called the South Carolina Rolling Stop that was perfectly legal. Maybe because most cars had manual transmissions and unsynchronized first gears? Who knows.
