Call me crazy but that Soto slam feels like a signature moment for him and the @Mets. After loading the bases with 0 out and seeing 2 guys K, Soto (who at times has seemed too patient) blasts one. Huge to not strand them loaded. This team needs momentum and that one could do it. #LFGM #MetsSky

Incredibly disappointing series by the @mets.com especially coming off that sweep of Philly. Somehow the Marlins seem to confound this team year in and year out, regardless of who they're rostering at the time (currently approx 47 rookies). This team is so dang inconsistent, it's maddening to watch.

By all accounts Jeremy Hefner is a highly thought of, respected pitching coach around baseball. I have no reason to believe anything to the contrary... but I do not understand how it can be that this pitching staff walks so many guys. @mets.com are 3rd worst in the majors in BB/9, 1st worst in NL.

Anyone remember when @mets.com fans were just praying Lindor wouldn’t have a typical slow start and then he didn’t and then he finally (deservedly) made an ASG and we thought this could be the MVP season and then he stopped hitting? I’ll take the slow starts from now on. #MetsSky #LFGM #NoQuit

Today it’s transgender Americans who served faithfully and honorably in service to our country. Tomorrow it might be people who voted the “wrong way” or whose eye color is brown. This will discourage service but also impact morale of current members.

Brett Meiselas: I’m against gerrymandering, but that doesn’t mean we unilaterally disarm. Governors like Newsom and Hochul are right to fight back. Democrats tried to ban partisan gerrymandering in the Freedom to Vote Act, which also included voter ID—but not one Republican voted for it.

I really wish there was a way to maintain herd immunity and protect those who can’t vaccinate while letting the anti-vaxxers do their thing. Would be super interesting to play the “let’s see who’s right” game if it didn’t mean unnecessary risk to compromised people.

Floods in Texas are tragic. I just wish other people felt the same when it happens in cities or states with oppositional political views. I also wish the tragedy resulted in more appreciation of FEMA, the national weather service and climate change science. But all we’ll get are thoughts and prayers

Nice for the @mets.com to take a series against a good (and streaking) team. Record at home remains stellar, and the bullpen has looked better. Need to keep it going. Senga and Manaea returning will help. Blackburn to the DL will help (no ill will, but he's been bad). #LGFM #MetsSky
