This is a fair representation of my favorite beers I drank multiples of this year. Cloudburst Peaked In High School is an absolute banger. It's a great style brewed with some killer hops that aren't used near enough anymore.

Postdoc Brewing Demon Star Imperial Stout
This stout pours black with a tall, brown head. I smell notes of coffee, chocolate, and dark fruit. The aroma was strong upfront with the tall head, but became flat with a weaker aroma as I drank. I taste light coffee, brown sugar, and burnt toast.

Sierra Nevada Brewing Barrel-Aged Narwhal 2023
Deep, dark, rich, and chocolatey. I am also picking up notes of coffee, cinnamon, dates, and slight vanilla. I bought this can at the Chico, CA brewhouse last year and it's still divine. I absolutely love this beer.

Sierra Nevada Brewing Barrel-Aged Narwhal 2023

Heater Allen Sandy Paws Baltic Porter (2024)
If you like Baltic Porter, you'll love this beer. Slight bitter with a great medium body. Coffee, chocolate, and a little bit of spicy rye flavor are all stand outs. A fantastic 4-pack for this fall and winter.

Heater Allen Sandy Paws Baltic Porter (2024)
If you like Baltic Porter, you'll love this beer. Slight bitter with a great medium body. Coffee, chocolate, and a little bit of spicy rye flavor are all stand outs. A fantastic 4-pack for this fall and winter.

This IPA comes in when we all need a little Porco Rosso in our lives. Really nice west coast IPA. Big flavors of grapefruit, lemongrass, pine, with a resiny finish. Notably bitter. Lovely.

I found fresher Sierra Nevada Pale here in Seattle than I ever did in California outside Chico. I love this beer.

This saison was fermented and aged in gin barrels. The jumpier is subtle amongst the notable chardonnay characteristics. The beer carries nice apple and pear flavors. Nice and refreshing on a hot Seattle day.

I finally got to the brewery I've been itching to try: Anspach & Hobday. The London Black is dynamite! An absolutely perfect English porter. I also really enjoyed The Porter (not pictured). Definitely check this place out if you're in London.

I'm in London and wound up at The Barrel Project last night. I think they're a pretty small operation but the beer was great. I got the hoppy flight and sour flight and I was quite surprised how good their IPAs tasted. Sure, the British created the IPA, but America definitely leads the way in terms

Controversial opinion for this former Bostonian to have - Great Notion Ripe is far superior to Trillium Congress Street. Both the Citra (Ripe) and Galaxy (Congress St) hops display really well, but the Ripe has a more flavorful, juicer, and softer. And the Trillium was brewed more recently!

Yesterday I spent the day in Portland and visited two spots I've been wanting to check out for awhile - Grand Fir Brewing and the Beer Mongers. Grand Fir has great beer and a nice atmosphere for a relatively new brewery and Beer Mongers is such a fantastic beer bar. Will be going back!
