On this trip to Texas, one of my goals was to see a Common Pauraque. I knew if we checked under every tree at Estero Llano Grande we'd find one, and eventually we did, sleeping on the ground a few feet off the trail. It was so well camouflaged, you could walk by this tree all week and never notice.

Spent some quality time last week with the RGV Green Parakeets in the parking lot of the Harlingen Whataburger (with special guest, Puddle Grackle!)
