I haven't, will do. But need to find a replacement app for Lapse, that's the only thing that keeps me on iOS, it's auto grading / film look with chromatic annotations is just too good

Ight, voted.

Was asked if I heard the phrase “Don’t sell the steak, sell the sizzle.” Got me thinking about what really makes our game tick, what’s the feeling we’re actually selling.

I started listing gameplay features, but none of it landed 1/2

This is how I give feedback, and I refuse to give feedback any other way.

Alright alright alright, we're cooking! Random placements of everything, but hey, at least the image is coming alive!

Yeah, or Shia LaBeouf gif, or my personal favorite is this:

I was dreading making characters for the past half year... And then I just woke up and did them.

Something I've internalized in the past few precious months is the idea of "just do" and "it is". Just do what you need to do, no questions asked, no overthinking, and the result will be what it is.

WIP shaders and model
October 13, 2025 at 12:41 PM
Yeah wanted to learn how to create Messenger look, flat style. Took colors from this and added some of my own, so will be a test bed for playing with color palettes!

⚠️ YAY ⚠️ FINISHED THE STUDY PIECE!!! ⚠️ I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!! ⚠️

I started with just an idea of modeling a patio, but strangers have helped me see things a bit differently.

Thanks to my oomfs for helping and pushing me further <3 On to the next piece!

Ight had an hour to slip into blender and finish off the modeling for the practice scene. So happy with how this turned out to be.

Friday vibes! How's everyone doing? It's German Unity Day here, so I went downtown and took a lot of pictures. Can't wait to get back to this piece, even though I should probably move on to the next thing, but I want to use it to train myself further. BUT, have to edit a podcast instead :P
October 3, 2025 at 12:55 PM
I need to go back to blender cause all of this is a very janky photopea setup lmao
October 2, 2025 at 7:28 PM
Had a few other suggestions and made shadows darker in post, but even cheating a little bit with a mist layer makes depth read better, even if right now it becomes soapy cause of all the blending I'm doing over it :P
October 2, 2025 at 7:21 PM
Progress in two days. I honestly have no idea what I'm doing (you can tell by that first render), so I'm kinda glad I'm ending somewhere good-ish!
October 2, 2025 at 6:27 PM
You wrote right after I was struck by the idea while playing with shadows! Going to add a "no parking" sign and a bicycle at the highlights, feeling pretty clever with that one lol. Now onto adding a bycicle...
October 2, 2025 at 5:37 PM
Tomorrow, I will think of something and will try to work that in. But so glad I did all of this! Just one day and I think I've improved so much.
October 2, 2025 at 3:33 PM
Today's progress exploring colors. I just basically opened a different inspo image and sampled colors from there and then went my way after the initial purple sky & walls sample. I think the crucial thing I'm missing is the subject / story of the scene.
October 2, 2025 at 3:29 PM
Now, I'm basing this off the recent Messenger game and their just IMO sublime use of colors and just me pushing that b/w filter on it to understand how it is dealing with values. Would love any pointers here.
October 1, 2025 at 9:17 PM
Every time I felt like I wasn't pushing it enough. Though, I'm afraid I'm not doing it correctly, and I don't really have anyone in 3d art world to sort of ask a question of "am I going in the right direction, and where am I fucking this up?"
October 1, 2025 at 9:17 PM
Looking at it from b/w filter perspective, it feels soooo heavy, yet somehow the color is supposed to be very light colors that I picked on the walls. So, I decided to strip colors and adjust values one item at a time.
October 1, 2025 at 9:17 PM
Here's where I started. I created a color palate that is supposedly harmonious (I mean, it looks harmonious to me) and just went to straight modeling in blender with a diffuse BSDF / color ramp for a flat shaded look + grease pencil line art for outlines. I hated the result a lot.
