This and all the responses are hysterical.

The noise of daily life is already more than enough. For example, since 4:30 this morning, somewhere on a street nearby, is a backup warning beeper. About one minute beeping, 30 second or less off. It was all day yesterday too. All.Day. Ugh.

Time to make sure my earbuds are easily accessible. (“How can we make the airport experience even more stressful?”)

In my case from the den to the kitchen away from my parents.

I feel seen.

I might exchange "likely" for "no f-ing way in Hell" 😀

Exactly.

Sanity prevailed..... then.

Yup. Brazil and Argentina were both on that path in the 70s and 80s, but stopped and created a mutual agreement, the Quadripartite Agreement. The primary push for it was the end of military rule and installation of democratic governments that "re-examined" what was being done.

This will no doubt redouble the efforts to open copper strip mining right next to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in Minnesota. That would be a shame. It's pristine wilderness, clean and remote, where you can go a week without hardly hearing a human created sound. Best vacation ever.

I had no idea this was a thing. I can’t help feeling that this would encourage athletes to try dangerous things to get ahead. Just a bad idea IMO.

Pretty rich coming from a former FOX News personality.

I had trouble getting reimbursed for a $20 weekly DC Metro pass even when I told them I didn’t want a rental car in DC. Comes out of per diem they said. Come on, I saved like $300!

Deeper somewhere, no doubt.

Pleas keep doing so, because those of us farther from it don't always hear. There is so much that drowns it out, or the major outlets don't cover it.

So Gen. Hayden was right back during Trump’s first presidency. Paraphrased, a military attack will not completely eliminate their program and will guarantee that which we seek to prevent. I wouldn’t be surprised, given this assessment.

Westerly, RI, temp-96.4, heat index 111, dewpoint 79. It’s ugly out there.

Sorry, I have to disagree here. No one in the military stated this in public, as far as I’m aware. In private, they *should* be bringing up any concerns or possible flaws, then salute smartly once decisions have been made. I’ve been in that situation many times and seniors appreciated frank advice.

I walked to the bookstore and post office this morning. Mistake.

It’s too late for War Powers. He already thumbed his nose at that.

Gen Hayden, former CIA director and NSA head, said the same, and that an attack on Iran might set them back, but guarantee their eventual move toward making nuclear weapons “guarantee that which we are trying to prevent”
