After seeing Maria Ressa on the Daily Show, I've started looking into he life and reading her work. The rise of Duterte in the Philippines has relevance to how other authoritarians have risen since. I'm now reading How to Resist a Dictator. I recommend it

This week was great for killing imposter syndrome. A VP told me he loved my updates, then having someone who is NEVER happy telling me they were happy, and third was someone asking me how I remain so calm when dealing with difficult people or situations.

12.5 million. That's a lot of people marching. Direct action also continued where appropriate. For example, In Tukwilla, volunteers and lawyers acted to protect immigrants called to a surprise immigration check-in (one of the latest tactics used by ICE)

The illegal use of the Insurections act to Federalize the National Guard and the threat to send in Marines is frightening at best. When I said Trump is undemocratic and a danger to our country and our constitution, this is what I meant.
