First up, a Friday night double bill of #BreakfastClub & #CaughtStealing.
Breakfast Club i part of the psyche, which I know the story, but I honestly do not believe I have ever watched. Now I have, & it's ok, but dated.

Then a mystery showing, which turned out to be #ToxicAvenger, which was fantastic.

First up #LifeOfChuck. I managed to go in to this one blind, no idea of what genre it was, let alone the synopsis. I still don't know what genre I would put is under, but if you can go and see it, and try and see it without knowing what it's about. It is truly wonderful.

Oddly enough, they went nicely together (pardon the Together' pun) with them both focusing on love.

Weapons has got a fair amount of critical & (from initial estimates) commercial success. And it is a good, voodoo, based film with some good jump scares. Worth your time, maybe not as good as made out

Great to be able to see it on the big screen, the story remains a joy, and whilst it's one I've seen probably a dozen times, seeing it in the big screen meant I watched it without distraction for probably the first time in 35 years.

One of the best horrors of the year. Disturbing, gripping and a story where you don't know whether anyone's safe.
But the highlight is the acting.

The 60s aesthetic & the robot sidekick lowered my expectations. The multiple montages was a brave choice.
Only a brief mention of the origin story (as with #Superman, the film knows that most of already know it).

Right decision to skip yet another origin story and head straight to the action. Casting and script spot on, Lois & Superman having good chemistry and a Lex that worked.
And a Supergirl/Krypto spin off is the sequel I never knew I needed.

I do like the JP franchise, I really do, but the decision making capability of any of the characters in it leaves so much to be desired
No one has each other's back, no one is ever keeping watch & unbelievable escapes are everywhere
That said, it is visually stunning

Sorry, but completely predictable and wasn't gripped at all.
But, apparently, I'm in the minority, with it currently enjoying a 83%/97% Rotten Tomatoes score. I don't get it.

Frustratingly, ended up watching 'weeks' 31 days after the rescreening of #28DaysLater...
Thanks for showing them again #Omniplex, but surely missed an obvious opportunity here.

Enjoyed the original, which was watched with my kids, and this one nailed the casting and the tone.
These live action remakes take a lot of stick, but this was a really enjoyable 2hrs

#Ballerina does what it says on the tin. It's from the John Wick world, and is a John Wick film. If you like them, you'll like this, if you don't there's nothing for you

Enjoyable enough, the story seemed rushed, without taking a chance to breathe.
Nice cameo at the end, and Miyagi-dough Pizza has got to be a thing, right?

When this film original came out I was already a fan of the genre, director and writer, and lived in London. It ticked all the boxes then, and still holds up.
Murphy and Eccelston look so young though! Harris is also a stand out.
