In Tesla's case, a rider could choose from a 2 seat cab to a 5 seat Model 3 or Y, to the crazy 20? seat van. A family would not need to split up if they did not wish to. Or they could if their destinations are in opposite directions!

The goal is the same amount of vehicles on the streets, and drastically less vehicles parked doing nothing. So less land area needs to be dedicated to parking lots. More bike lanes and green space, ideally.

Two Teslas and a 2013 Leaf. A silver lining to the politicization of Tesla is that a lot of new people will be interested in them (and then start to understand EVs as a viable option). And the people that are turned off by the Tesla brand have an increasingly great set of non-Tesla options.
