TODAY'S COMIC: The Hodgepodge Dog Lodge, episode 14
COMIC TITLE: “The Hodgepodge Dog Lodge” Logline: With no humans around, these dogs have to learn a new trick: RUNNING A KENNEL. PANEL 1: A man with curly blonde hair walks through a door. The pomeranian, great dane, pug and dachshund greet him with large excited eyes. MAN: Hi pups! I’m back! Sorry I had to step out! Dogs; bark bark bark! PANEL 2: The man bends down to pet the fluffy chow-chow. The black scruffy dog with a pink bow in his hair looks on happily. MAN: ha ha ha did you miss me? Dogs: bar bark bark! TITLE: This is the house that Jack built TEXT: This is the law with the crumpled core that let the NSA plain ignore The Fourth Amendment (which limits the scope of search and seizures - or so’s the hope), and forced corporations to turn over files like e-mails and friendlists and calls in big piles; that got a green light from FISA the court which works in secret to support the clearance of searches of all sorts of stuff and none of it small, and none of it fluff, which, under the guise of “serve and protect,” is a slippery slope when no one can check the things now turned over, and sorted and stored, in big data centers whose goal’s to record the things that you search and you say while online …with a normal, small laptop of standard design which sits on a table you got at Ikea (…and was THAT purchase tracked? you have no idea.) DIGBY, a brown dachshund, looks up at him. PANCAKES: Come quick, every buddy! Our food bowls are BROKEN! DIGBY: Broken? PANEL 2: PANCAKES looks down at a metal dog bowl. MR. BOOPERS, a brown fluffy chow-chow, stands next to him also looking at the bowl. PANCAKES: There were crunchies in them, but now there are NO curnchies. MR BOOPERS: But we ate those old crunchies! That’s how we get the new crunchies to appear! PANEL 3: MR BOOPERS looks up, eyes wide, in horror. DIGBY sniffs the bowl, while PANCAKES stands over him. They all look scared. They’re conducting war grames all week… in orbit over New Zealand. PANEL 5: The EMPEROR holds his hands up to his head, eyes bulging in horror. The ADMIRAL is also concerned, holding the tablet. EMPEROR: What?!? RIGHT NOW?!? Tell them to leap! Tell them to leap immediately! ADMIRAL: My lord, they can’t pinch space near tierra. They’ll have to come via nacelle. PANEL 6: The EMPEROR looks up at his two TESSKANS. EMPEROR: GAHHH! Then we have two critical duties: WE NEED TO GET COMMAND AND CONTROL TO SAFETY. I want you two tesskans on me. You go where I go. PANEL 7: The EMPEROR turns to address a crowd of huge TESSKANS, looing down at him. EMPEROR: And the rest of you! Go prep my shuttle for immediate departure. PANEL 8: Extreme close up on the EMPEROR as he gets very intense. EMPEROR: And Admiral, you turn La Invencible toward that ship, and BEGIN FIRING EVERY M-WAVE YOU HAVE. PANEL 1: GRAMP, an older bald man with a grey mustache, wearing an orange shirt, gets the mail out of his mailbox. ARTHUR, a yellow duck, watches him. GRAMP: Oooo!
