I used to work shifts on a 24h/12wk rotation, so we're both used to me being up at odd hours, which helps since most of my games are in US or European timezones. (A couple are still local to Australia, though.)
I don't recommend it for anyone used to regular sleep, but it does expand my options.

For years, work commitments restricted me to playing at maybe one con annually, so this sort of makes up for it.
And I’m pretty much retired now, so the time out stops my wife from killing me. 😉

It’s all online (at least for the moment), which makes a difference—I’ve been travelling for over a year, and before that, lived in a town literally hours from anything to do. I don’t watch much TV, so it’s my main form of entertainment/socialising.
