I'm an editor who is fortunate in my career to work with great and talented friends.
Went to the chiropractor the other day where he determined my not very bendiness.
Prolly shoulda seen that coming.

I won't lie. I'm petty enough to delight in these profound morning.commute traffic jams on southbound 5 whilst I cruise on by without a care in the world.

Last night's ADHD moment:
(me) "Man we got a lot of glasses."
(her) "That's because we break a lot of glasses."
And then I returned to putting the glasses away.

Talked shop with my writer/composer/musician daughter yesterday. I won't lie: diving into the creative process with her is one of my favorite things to do. ☺️☺️☺️❤️❤️❤️🤩😁

Smokestacks seem iconic to visualizing the Industrial Revolution. Smokestacks: which we now recognize, at the very least, as problematic.
So I'm wondering what the icon is for our current Revolution, what about it's helpful human advancement, and what's just black smoke billowing into the air.

As a kid, my future was a reasonably stable thing waiting for me to catch up with it.
It was a long-term doable pursuit during what I now recognize as a period of comparable stability when you compare it to, you know, now. 😕

The Styx "Cornerstone" tour was my first live concert experience ever. I think 9th grade. I've been a fan ever since.
Definitely loving these performances with the Contemporary Youth Orchestra. 😁

Sat in a room last night with other human beings and all we did was listen to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon on vinyl.
As it was meant to be. ☺️

A little math: if 10 people run your store & you fire 8 'cause you can run the store w/ 2 people + AI... doesn't that mean at least 2 enterprising former employees can AI themselves into competition with you?

I'm reminded that thinking the worst of others is an easy attitude and response to wield.
We've been working on it since grade school.

I'm thinking it would be helpful to fully understand the prowess and potential of the human brain before deciding it should do, you know, less. 🤔

Today's ADHD moment:
Any time it's about comic books I rejoice in how cool it is to learn how someone's professional creative prowess has its roots in that fully immersive daily pursuit, long long ago. 😁
And then I'm back to what I was doing.

Today's ADHD moment:
"Banned books" & I'm thinking college class where those were all we read & "Go Ask Alice" discussions & the reasons for its banning & the legitimacy of its banning.
Decades later, turns out the book's not a real diary.
It's complete fiction.
🤔🤔🤔
Moving on with my life now...

Sometimes the planets align and someone in need receives words of praise and encouragement from someone randomly and completely unexpected.
It's crazy how much power there is in moments like that.

A passing in our hundred acre wood that leaves behind not only family, friends... but also colleagues who now must find their way forward without their center of gravity.
I'm reminded not only of loss but of disorientation and what it feels like to suddenly find yourself in such uncharted waters.

The Present is a Class 5 river rapid, a relentless, chaotic experience that overpowers our physical, intellectual, and emotional capacities when we allow ourselves to be trapped in it.

The human experience:
Giving advice and then realizing you should be taking, you know, your own advice. 🤔

Recently, my wife n I came across a woman washing her husband's classic truck. It wasn't long before she told us he died suddenly, six months ago and began to weep.
For some reason she apologized for the weeping but you know what?
Tears are the debt we owe to those we love deepest when they leave.

In other news, here's what happened when I asked chatgpt for an image contrasting nature with civilization in the style of Rembrandt. The result's not what I was angling for but dang.
That's grim.

I won't lie. Not knowing the minute by minute of what's happening in the world is a very compelling experience.
