Dams can actually be used as a battery. Solar generated electricity pumps the water upstream during the day. At night water is released to generate electricity via the dam turbines.

We need to make solar panels into roofing material that’s as cheap as asphalt shingles. Rooftops along with car park covers, and multiple other renewable sources can help. But we still need major innovation and infrastructure improvements.
