I don't let it get to me. I see Democrat as a variation, a conjugation, of Democratic. As in "we are a democratic nation of laws, full of democrats (lower d)." I say own it, and don't let it chafe. Why? I am, at this point, a member of the Democratic party, and a democrat.

I put the blame at the feet of Tr@mp, and his cronies. Which are only one small, if influential, segment, of the government.
The distinction is important as I am confident many in the government are loyal to the Constitution, us.
