All income now is in three lumps: convincing fans to buy physical copies of the music (e.g., CDs. Vinyl is a big draw because it allows tangible artwork to accompany the disc(s), etc.); merch (shirts, stickers, etc.); and, finally, touring / live performance.

From my interactions with musicians (at varying levels of popularity) I'm moderately certain that only a handful of musicians make any money from streaming.
