Having recently driven from eastern Ontario to Dawson City in the Yukon I say you should do it. There is a lot of beautiful country in between , even the flat bits. Granted this run was a bit smokey but well worth it. Just don't do more than 10 hours at a stretch.

Met an american tourist while waiting at a construction delay on the road to Dawson City last month. Amongst other things we discussed the fires that were burning in the area. I mentioned lightning strikes. His first words were that it must be arson because "people will get work". Conspiracy!
