I think it depends on where you're starting from. I'm less disposed to be sympathetic to a theory that supports a lot of structure in the classroom.

Or even makes us more likely to go looking for 'the way things are done' from an authority, rather than thinking our way through issues and maintaining their existing complexity.

That's probably too far... but it's still what i'm wondering this morning.

Like somehow thinking that there is a reason, somewhere in the ether, for spellings that clearly don't make sense, makes us more susceptible to other things that don't make sense because someone convinces us "that just the way things are"

If I'm saying that I want students to find their own resources on the web, in an effort to teach them good practices for their future needs, I'm making the course harder and requiring more literacies for them to get through the process.

I'm ok with that. But I'm trying to model it.
