Porch jack-o'-lanterns will be posted tomorrow, and this one isn't properly illuminated, but here's the jack-o'-lantern I carved for the Odd Fellows lodge tonight.

Halloween ain't Halloween without Acid Witch, part 2: t-shirts!
Acid Witch releases Halloween t-shirts now and again, and they all rule. The art is usually done by Slasher Dave himself.

Halloween ain't Halloween without Acid Witch! Two of their LPs included these sick die-cut decorations, which I put up every year.
Later this week I'll post about their killer t-shirts and, of course, the music itself.

#nokings Houston seemed to have about the same turnout as last time, but it was hard to tell. The city hall event started at 2:00 and is scheduled to run until 6:00- way too long in this heat. And there was another event right before it on the other side of downtown!

Literary lagniappe, courtesy of the indispensable USPS: I Saw the Pink Light Glow, by @josie.zone and @valisdheart.bsky.social. Latter-day Philip K. Dick is my favorite, so I'm stoked as hell about this.

It took a little longer than I'd hoped for, but my copy of Pynchon's newest finally arrived at Good On Paper (which has a great Halloween book display—go check it out)!

Camp Solidarity 2025 is over. I met a bunch of incredible people, saw some familiar faces, and learned a lot.
Shit is bleak out there, but knowing there are organizers, activists, journalists, and artists like the ones who gathered in Matewan this week gives me hope.

A few images from Camp Solidarity 2025, which has been incredible so far. All hope is not lost for the labor movement.

For Labor Day, I thought I'd recommend some books that have stood out in helping me think about work, how we relate to it, the relationship between labor and capital, the history of labor, and what the future might hold. 1/8
