Come and sit or stand silently to draw attention to the hunger strike.

Does @davidlammy.bsky.social recognise what is likely to happen if he allows a hunger striker to die.
The Palestine hunger strikers are going to die if there is no intervention from this Labour government.

Keir Starmer and David Lammy, blood will be on your hands.

This is what socialist representation looks like!

Is right and wrong determined by social values/morals, or power?
Maybe it was always thus but right now in Gaza, Ukraine, Venezuela and more parochially in UK courts, Netanyahu, Trump, Putin and the like, use raw power as the arbitrator of justice.
There has to be a better way.

I went to Cambridge’s council chamber to watch the Cabinet Meeting.
Much of the meeting was about £92 million being spent on the civic centre. Particular emphasis was on how the council chamber was at the heart of Cambridge’s democracy.
🤕
I tried to ask a question, I was refused.
😕
Some democracy!

We need to be honest, left leaning people are struggling. Our original party has abandoned its roots, and us, and we need a voice.
😑
But there is a new hope. Your Party has captured hearts and minds.

I expect the Mayor to be saying bad things about migrants but i find it hard to believe that Sam Carling and Andrew Pakes appear to be supporting him

The slaughter of innocents in Gaza continues!
🧌
We could stop this!
🧌
At least politicians could.
🧌
I argue that we all have a responsibility to do our bit.
🧌
Could you write to your MP, asking them to intervene in our government’s policy?

Silence isn’t neutral!

Have your say before others do it for you
Cambridge residents should be aware that local government is changing.

All three models for a new Unitary Authority, will lead to Cllrs from outside the city being a majority.

AND in control of OUR CITY

There is this word ‘Parrhesia.’
🧌
It’s very apt when applied to politics. It involves a duty to be transparent, tell the whole truth, not hide anything and not remaining silent
🧌
To me it ranks alongside the expression ‘What you don’t condemn you condone.’
🧌
It’s about putting your principles first.

Fantastic speech Baiju.
It was wonderful that you approached head on the question that has been raised by @keirstarmer.bsky.social about migration.
Here in Cambridge we have 120 nations, 80 languages and 40 religion in our city of sanctuary and are grateful to live in such a cosmopolitan environment
Great to listen to outgoing Mayor of Cambridge City Council Cllr Baiju Thittala acknowledge that the wealth of city is the value of our diversity here. But shocked that our formal Lib Dem opposition abstained on the traditional vote thanking him for his service

@keirstarmer.bsky.social further to my earlier message.
To make Cambridge the powerhouse you want, maybe you can keep the successful city council that manages what it is today?
Angela Rayner can you look again at RLG for Cambridge?
🧌
According to current plans, Cambridge will soon move to a Unitary, controlled by Lib villages.
🧌
Can you keep the successful Cambridge City Council so it acts as a satellite, like the City of London, within a wider unitary authority?
May 6, 2025 at 7:06 AM
@keirstarmer.bsky.social could this be worth a look?
👀
Cambridge needs the space to breath if it going to be successful. Having a Tory Mayor imposed by electors with little link to Cambridge is like having a foot on our chest.

In real terms this was a very significant andimportant step!

What will you do next?
